Inaugural Holme Grange Girls’ Football Tournament – A Day to Remember!
Our Year 4 and 5 girls’ football team delivered an incredible performance at the very first Holme Grange Girls’ Football Tournament this week. With special guests from Reading Football Club watching on, the girls rose to the occasion magnificently, showcasing teamwork, determination, and an infectious team spirit that made us all proud.
From the very first whistle, the team set the tone for the day. They opened with a confident 2–0 win against Dolphin School, followed by another impressive 2–0 victory over LVS. Their momentum continued into the third match, where they played with real flair and discipline to secure a 3–0 win against St Neot’s.
By the final match, confidence was sky‑high, and the girls put on a remarkable display of attacking football, winning 5–0 against Our Lady’s. Across the four matches, five different players scored, and thanks to some outstanding defending and superb goalkeeping, not a single goal was conceded.
There were also individual celebrations:
  • Bella was selected by the Holme Grange PE staff for a Special Player award.
  • Lyla received the Positive Player of the Tournament award for her attitude and teamwork.
A huge thank you to our wonderfully supportive parents, and to our brilliant office team for organising the event. Most of all, thank you to the girls for representing our school with such skill, positivity, and pride.
It was an inspiring afternoon of football that will live long in the memory. Well done, team!
