On the afternoon of Tuesday 14th July, Year 5 and 6 took a team of 12 to The team comprised of 6 boys and 6 girls and each competitor took part in a running event and a field event. Every member of the team was vital for 5th place scored better than 6th. The whole team shone brightly.
We had some stand out performances that need to be celebrated. Serena won her 80m heat, Josie, although she finished 3rd in her 80m heat, her time was fast enough to qualify for the 80m sprint final. Cassius ran hard to achieve 3rd in the 600m and Eve managed to find a final burst of energy to come in 2nd in her 600m race. Josh won his 80m and qualified for the boys final and came an incredible 2nd in the 80m sprint final.
However, above all, the proudest moment of the afternoon was the fast legs of the 10 members of the relay team. They won the first race and qualified for the final. So the blue ribbon, final event of the day was the relay. The change overs were slick and every child flew across the track to lead us to win that race. Once all the scores were added together, we finished a very respectable 10th out of 21 schools…and we have the fastest relay team in Bracknell Forest. Huge thanks to all the parents for you support. We couldn’t do it without you.
