Ash Wednesday – Year 4 Trip
On Wednesday 5th March, year 4 went to St Michael’s Church for a service with Reverend Gareth Morley and a group of children from St. Michael’s school.
Ash Wednesday is the name given for the first day of Lent from the tradition of making the sign of the cross in ash.
The children observed a variety of readings, hymns, prayers and the children were given the option to have a cross on their forehead from the ashes of burnt psalms.
A special thank you to Matilda and Rowan for their Bible reading during the service. All of year 4 sang beautifully to end the service with ‘Amazing Grace’.
