Pause Day – Exploring the Figure of Jesus
Last Friday 16th January was World Religions Day. Our school marked this with a Pause Day. We spent the day in a reflective exploration of the figure of Jesus.
In Reception, children learned about Jesus stories, discussion, and creative activities.
For our older pupils, the focus expanded to include how Jesus is understood in different religions, with particular attention to Judaism and Islam. Children investigated his role and significance across these faiths, comparing similarities and differences in respectful and thoughtful ways.
Throughout the day, each class discussed their findings, asked questions, and recorded their learning in a variety of creative forms. We then came together during our celebration assembly, where pupils proudly shared what they had discovered.
